Activities at Home to Build Math Skills


We are building early math skills. Try these activities @ home:
- Count(touch the object as you count each one)
- Point to numbers on a page
- Identify shapes
- Sort objects by color, size and shape
- Recognize patterns with colors and shapes
- Talk about “more and less”
- Measure liquid and
- Compare sizes to big, medium or small
- Show how you can add or take away
- Read books with numbers, counting, colors and shapes
These simple activities will lay the foundation for complex math skills down the road. They help our children become critical thinkers and problem solvers.
