A Celebration of 10 Years of Innovation and Impact at The E3 School
Delegate Bonita Anthony presents a Resolution on behalf of Speaker Don Scott and the House of Delegates to The E3 School

The E3 School recently marked a milestone that speaks to the power of vision, partnership, and dedication—10 years of innovation and impact. Our special celebration last week brought together alumni, families, educators, investors, supporters, and civic leaders to honor a decade of transforming early education in the region and state.

A Mission that Transforms Education

From the day our doors opened at The E3 School, we have embraced a bold mission: to ensure every child and family—regardless of zip code or income—has access to the highest quality early education. Through an evidence-based curriculum, highly trained teachers, and a focus on data-driven results The E3 School gives children the strong foundation in literacy, math, social skills and self-regulation.

William was part of our first graduating class. He loved playing on the Nature Playground and developed a love of math at our school.

A Decade of Impact

What began as an innovative high quality implementation model built from scratch in Norfolk has grown into a nationally recognized school for excellence. Over the past 10 years, The E3 School has helped thousands of children and families gain access to quality early learning. Our impact stretches beyond classrooms and is shaping policy, driving increased public-private investment, and elevating the conversation around early education across Virginia and beyond.

The school’s data-driven approach and measurable results have inspired policymakers to rethink funding priorities and expand equitable access to early learning programs and address the literacy gaps. The partnership between E3:Elevate Early Education, the school, higher education and philanthropy have played a pivotal role in the success. Their investments created a “show and tell “model, developed a curriculum, professional development, coaching and assessment model that could be replicated and scaled. Over 5,400 early childhood classrooms are using the UVA -developed curriculum.

121 scholarships were awarded to underserved and working families based upon need. When we invest in a child and family, we invest from the age of one until they head off to kindergarten.

Help Us Build the Next 10 Years

As we enter the next decade, the mission remains clear through The Tomorrow Fund, the school will:

  • Drive cutting edge innovation and impact.
  • Help more children have equitable access to a quality education no matter their zip code.
  • Foster diversity in every classroom.
  • Shape policy.
  • Increase public-private investment.
