Summer Learning @ The E3 School (Home Too)

- Cut fruit to make a fruit bowl.
- Go on a shape walk. Try to find as many shapes as you can.
- Use a cookie sheet and magnetic letters to identify letters and make letter sounds.
- Get a piece of yarn and colored buttons. Put each button on the string to make a pattern of colors. Count them too.
- Visit the library and find a quiet place to read a book. Then check books out to take home.
- Go on a flower, rock or seashell hunt. Find as many as you can. Then sort them by color, shape or size. Talk about the differences you see.
- Go on a color walk. Find everything yellow, red, etc.
- Start a reading marathon. How many books can you read together in a month?
- Try creative writing with one word. Think flowers, city, garden, ocean, etc.
- Cut a lemon, dry the inside, dip in paint and make a design on paper, aluminum foil or fabric.
- Make popsicles to eat. You can also use popsicles on a white sheet of paper to create a picture.
- Take colored chalk and create a masterpiece on the sidewalk.
- Use cereal to practice counting, sorting, recognizing shapes and colors.
- Make a water station filled with things that sink or float.
- Build with recycled boxes.
- Make a robot out of boxes.
- Take plain white paper, crayons, markers or paint to make a picture.
- Make a rhyme and sing a song.
- Create a word jar. Write words on a piece of paper, sound out the word and throw it in the jar. Count how many words you add every week.
