Memories, memories, memories.

Some of a child’s favorite memories cost very little to do. As they get older, we as parents are reminded of how much they valued the walks on the beach, finding seashells or sand dollars, planting seeds and flowers, riding bikes, going to the library, drawing with chalk on the sidewalk, collecting rocks, playing outside and eating watermelon.

Are you looking for summer activities? Here are a few tried and true things to do that kids and adults alike find enjoyable:

  • Blow bubbles and chase them
  • Catch fireflies in a jar
  • Roast marshmallows
  • Make lemonade and sell in the neighborhood
  • Fly a kite
  • Hike in the park
  • Make homemade ice cream
  • Go get an ice cream cone
  • Set up sprinklers and slides
  • Make water balloons to catch
  • Wash the car
  • Make a reading fort
  • Play flashlight tag
  • Make your own popsicles
  • Paint with popsicles
  • Go for a walk
  • Stack up blankets and pillows to make a cozy reading area
  • Fill up a bucket with water, grab paintbrushes and pretend to paint
  • Count the number of birds or butterflies you see
  • Pretend to be a bird flying in the sky
  • Make a pizza
  • Create your own nature book (use white paper, crayons and your imagination)

Have fun in the sun! Spend time together. Enjoy the outdoors and more as you make memories this summer!
